Quebec City Trip for Cycle 3 Students
We kindly ask all parents and visitors to avoid parking on our neighbours’ lawns, as this causes damage to their property. Please ensure all parking remains on the road to respect our community.
On March 28th, Ormstown Elementary School (OES) proudly participated in the Valley Schools Basketball Tournament. We were thrilled to have three teams made up of grade 5 and 6 students representing our school. We were proud of our students for their dedication and teamwork towards the event.
A big thank you goes out to our amazing coaches, Mr. I and Ms. Julie! Well done to all the players and coaches for their fantastic effort and sportsmanship! 🏀
March 16 to 20, OES participated in the Quebec Violence & Bullying Prevention Week, an province-wide initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Our Grade 3-6 students have been working hard in preparation for our upcoming spring production. Their dedication and enthusiasm are sure to make this event a memorable experience for all. We look forward to showcasing their talents!
February’s option clubs were a great success! Some of the engaging activities that our students had the opportunity to participate in include Clay Club, Indigenous Arts and Crafts, Environmental Science Club, Nature Painting, Lego Robots, Outdoor Education, Hip Hop and Circus & Contemporary Dance. A big thank-you to the volunteers and community members who made these enriching experiences possible.
Students in Grades 1-6 have participated in the “Create to Get Closer” program, an initiative by La Francoderole and partially funded by Canadian Heritage. This exciting project involved painting a collective, permanent mural that celebrates civic engagement and unity between English- and French-speaking communities.
We are thrilled to celebrate Alyssa Aitkens and Katelyn Lacasse, student teachers from Bishop’s University, who have been with us for the past twelve weeks. While we are sad to see them go, we extend our heartfelt congratulations as they complete their studies and become certified teachers this spring. Thank you both for your dedication to educating our students and for participating in so many aspects of school life during your time here.
This fantastic event brought joy to all with outdoor activities like sledding, tug-of-war, and relay obstacle courses, as well as indoor fun like bingo and a bouncy castle. We deeply appreciate everyone who helped organize this memorable day.
Congratulations to all of our Star of the Month recipients who received a certificate at our last assembly! We also took time to highlight the origin and importance of Pink Shirt Day and took the opportunity to remind our students to continue to spread kindness at OES daily.
