OES Loop – June/July 2025

Thank you Ormstown PPO!

A big thank you to our Parent Participation Organization (PPO) for all their hard work this year with fundraising and coordinating events.

Most recently, the PPO took the lead in creating our beautiful float for the Ormstown Fair Parade! Our students had a wonderful time riding on and walking with the float, and they were so proud to display their artwork as part of it.

The PPO also organized our Family BBQ, which was a tremendous success. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and a fantastic turnout. During the event, we announced the winners of the OES Summer Activities Raffle, also coordinated by the PPO. Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you to everyone for your support!

Thank You to Desjardins Bank

We are so grateful to Desjardins Bank for their generous support! Their contribution helped provide food for our Family BBQ, and their donation of $50 worth of school supplies for each student will make a wonderful difference as we start the new school year. Thank you for helping us set our students up for success!

Welcome Back Day – Important Update

For the 2025-2026 school year, all NFSB schools will no longer be holding an in-person Welcome Back Day. This change comes as we are now required to offer 180 full school days in the academic calendar.

Instead, we’re moving our welcome back information online! Short videos covering the information normally shared on Welcome Back Day will be available on our website starting August 29th.

School Supply Lists

School Supply lists for the 2025-2026 year can be found at the following link:

OES Supply Lists 2025-2026

We ask that all students in Grades 1 to 6 bring their school supplies in their backpacks on the first day of school. Parents of Kindergarten students may drop off their child’s materials at the office on August 29. Please note that this will be a drop-off only, and there will not be an opportunity to meet teachers at that time. Preschool families should bring their items during their scheduled meeting times.

Curriculum Night

We will be moving Curriculum Night earlier this year to give parents a chance to meet teachers a little sooner. Curriculum Night and our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on September 4th.

To support families, Desjardins will be providing $50 worth of school supplies for each child at Curriculum Night.

Thank You to the OES Staff

A sincere thank you to our amazing staff for all the extra effort they put into making the month of June so special for our students. From field trips and end-of-year celebrations to graduation events, they have gone above and beyond to create lasting memories for the children of OES.

Renovations Underway

Major renovations are underway at OES this summer! The work includes asbestos removal, upgrades to two classrooms, and the installation of beautiful new wood floors in the gym. We’re excited to see these improvements come together for the start of the new school year.
