As we approach the end of summer break and the start of a new school year, we are excited to welcome back our students to another great year at OES! We hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer holiday with your families and had plenty of time to relax and recharge. We look forward to seeing our students on September 2nd!
This fall, we will be doing things a little differently. Instead of hosting an in-person Welcome Back Day, all information will be shared online. Short videos covering the details typically presented at Welcome Back Day will be posted on our school website. A link to access these videos will be sent by email next week.

Students in Grades 1 to 6 can bring their school supplies in their backpacks on the first day of school.
For our Kindergarten families, supplies may be dropped off at the office on August 29. Please note this will be a quick drop-off only, as teachers will be busy preparing their classrooms.
Pre-Kindergarten families are invited to bring their supplies during their scheduled meeting times.
We are so grateful to Desjardins Bank for their generous support! Their contribution helped provide food for our Family BBQ at the end of last year, and their donation of $50 worth of school supplies for each student will make a wonderful difference as we start the new school year. We’ve been busy at OES this summer with some exciting renovations! The work included asbestos removal, upgrades to two classrooms and two bathrooms, as well as the installation of a beautiful new wood floor in the gym.
The classrooms are looking fantastic and, along with the upstairs bathrooms, will be ready for our first day of school on September 2nd. The gym floor project will be completed by September 5th. In the meantime, all Phys Ed classes will take place outdoors during the first week of school.
While our south side stairwell will not be fully finished in time for the first day, it will be structurally sound and ready to serve as an emergency exit.
We are so excited to welcome students back into refreshed and improved learning spaces!
