We have received a considerable amount of funding from the Rond 3 Special Needs Allocation. I will work on a tentative plan for this funding and will request a Special Needs meeting in the next few days.

I am so proud of our student participation in the cross-country run! THey did wonderfully. That you to Chad and Travis for their contributions to coordinating the events and to the rest of the team for going down there to supervise and encourage our students!
Chad is working on some tweeks to this document to make it reflect what we are currently doing. We had a fire inspection Friday and the inspector was pleased with all of the changes that were implemented since the last inspection.
Interim Reports were released overnight. Let me know if you here of any issued with the grades appearing properly.
Please be sure to send home you IEPs by tomorrow October 14th.
Please print the IEP and ensure that all members of the team sign it. Once signed, make a copy for the student’s Confidential File before sending the original IEP home. Please also include an additional copy for the family to keep.
When the signed IEP is returned by the parents/guardians, place it in the student’s Confidential File. At that time, the unsigned copy that was retained in the file can be replaced with the signed version and destroyed. If the signed copy is not returned, we will still have the unsigned version on file.
This process will help ensure that every student’s Confidential File contains an IEP and will reduce the risk of missing documentation.

Since parent-teacher interviews are scheduled later than usual this year, on December 3-4, IEP meetings may be needed earlier but will be held by request only. For new IEPs, a phone or in-person meeting is required to let them know that this document is being created. I know that many of you have already met with families during the planning process or recently reviewed IEPs with parents.

Class lists printed on red paper will be handed out to each room to put near the door. These will be used for attendance once you line up outside with your groups during the drill.

The cross Country run for Grades 1-3 will be held this Thursday and for Grades 4-6 on Friday. Please bring your students to the event for 9:35am. A sub is being booked for these days to replace Chad. If your students are at the field during your prep time, you may choose to stay and claim ECA or take your prep period.

We have recently noticed an increase in toilet and plumbing blockages caused by wipes and feminine hygiene products being flushed. While some wipes are marketed as “flushable,” they do not break down effectively in plumbing systems and can lead to significant blockages that require specialized contractor services to resolve.
To help prevent these issues, please ensure that appropriate disposal bins are available for hygiene products and remind occupants that wipes should not be flushed under any circumstances.

Our Curriculum Night will take place this Thursday, Sept 17th. We will begin at 6:30 p.m. with general school information and a showcase of current projects, followed by our Annual General Meeting. Teachers do not need to attend this part of the evening. You can remain in your classes to prepare for your presentations. During the AGM, we will hold elections for new Governing Board members and a Parent Committee Rep. I am hoping to use on online system to help speed up this process.
Classroom sessions will follow at 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM. No appointments are needed. Please note that these are group sessions and not individual interviews. I will remind families of this before they head out to your sessions.

Below is the link to this year’s Student Incident Form. Please use this form to document any violent, agressive, impulsive or maladaptive behaviours towards students or adults, as well as acts of bullying (or incidents that you feel may later qualify as bullying). The form contains definitions of each of these.
Ideally whoever witnessed the incident should be the one to fill out the form. Support staff, please let the teachers know if you need to take a few minutes to fill out an incident report form and if the incident has been delt with, make sure that the teachers of the students involved are aware of the incident and that a form has been submitted. A QR code to the form will be distributed tomorrow and displayed in common areas.

Due to the location of the wasp nest at the back of the school, a lift must be rented to allow the exterminator to safely access and remove it. The school board has coordinated the rental, and the work is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
At this time, we do not have a confirmed arrival time. However, we will ensure that the removal does not take place during recess periods. When the crew arrives, an announcement will be made, and students and staff will remain indoors until the work has been completed.
Picture Day will be on September 17th. We are using a different service this year called Green Apple Studios. More info & a schedule to come.
